Photos of Michel Alaux as a student at E.M.E.S.C au Fort Carré d'Antibes,
from which he graduated in 1947. The Fencing Master’s degree program - arguably
the most rigorous in the world - consisted of practice and theory six days a week,
eleven months a year for a minimum of three years.

MICHEL ALAUX AND CHRISTIAN D'ORIOLA
|
Michel Alaux’s most famous pupil, Christian d’Oriola, towers as one the Greats
in the history of fencing. A cerebral fencer, d’Oriola’s brilliant technique
and lithe, elegant style dazzled opponents and spectators. Between 1947 and 1956,
d’Oriola won four world titles and six Olympic medals.
